• In the fall of 2004, Cool City Avionics was formed to market a line of innovative, affordable automatic flight control systems for general aviation helicopters and airplanes. Cool City has developed a line of affordable, high technology, automatic flight guidance and control products that will forever change the general aviation helicopter industry and add desirable new capabilities to the general aviation airplane autopilot market. Cool City personnel have over 300 years of combined experience, specifically in design, manufacture and installation activities of the automatic flight guidance and control industry, including significant experience in the helicopter industry dating back over 40 years and 20 years experience in the UAV industry. One of the Cool City principals, and other staff members, were founders of one of the industrys leading autopilot companies.From this previous experience, the staff brings an in-depth understanding of the FAA certification process. In addition to conducting a large number of TSO qualifications and over 3000 STC approvals for automatic flight guidance control systems, several of our personnel have served as FAA Designated Engineering Representatives and DAS staff coordinators. Other staff members have served as FAA Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representatives and directed FAA-Approved Quality Control Systems. Each department at Cool City is represented by individuals who provided leadership in previous companies, and several held top leadership positions in the autopilot industry.
