• Dominican Volunteers USA searches for new frontiers for the faith by inviting men and women to walk with us in mission as volunteers. Together, we respond to the needs of our sisters and brothers, especially those who are poor and marginalized. We live out the Dominican mission of proclaiming the gospel through our ministry, common life, prayer and study within a diverse, intergenerational community. For the past 16 years Dominican Volunteers USA has been placing committed individuals in yearlong terms of service in our nations most vulnerable communities. Last year alone, our volunteers provided over 30,000 hours dedicated to service, direct aid, and social justice. This year, we have 14 volunteers placed throughout the United StatesAtlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Long Island, NY; New York, NY; Racine, WI; and San Francisco, CA. These volunteers are preaching Gods love through service and participating in the 800 year tradition of the Dominican Order by teaching in impoverished areas, working with and as advocates for victims of abuse, giving the gift of companionship to elders, and providing direct services and support to immigrants, refugees, and disabled persons. Their work not only impacts the areas they serve, but also inspires us to serve and fight injustice.
