• The menu will change frequently, to keep in stride with the growing season while concentrating on the bounty of simple, fresh Pacific Northwest flavors. Signature dishes include: Puget Sound sole filet with duchilly hazelnut faro; Smoked paprika-braised pork shoulder with mango rhubarb salsa; and Jones Family Farm manila clams with local saffron aioli. Allium, the Latin name for the lily family, includes onions and their allies. For Nakamura, the onion is fundamental to cooking, providing the base for multi-faceted flavors and dimension. While it will no longer be fine dining, Nakamura hopes to continue the warm hospitality and tradition for great food that Christina created for so many years. About Christinas Restaurant:Christinas became a destination restaurant on the Island, and the go-to restaurant for families living on Orcas Island. Owned by Chef Christina Orchid and her husband Bruce, it became a sought after restaurant, spanning a successful 28-year run. The journey to Orcas Island lies in the beautiful ferry ride, only two hours north of Seattle. Travel to the ferry is packed with adventure: snow-capped mountains, fields of blossoming red tulips, apple farms, and green pastures. The island is sheltered from the erratic Pacific Northwest storm channel, allowing for more sunny days than the greater Seattle metropolitan area. Showers in western Washington tend to be a good forecaster for clear skies on the island.
