ASCCP - American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology - is the national organization of healthcare professionals committed to improving health of lower genital tract disorders.While ASCCPs original purpose was educating and training clinicians to use colposcopy to evaluate and manage cervical neoplasia, for almost 25 years, ASCCPs goal has been to improve clinician competence, performance and patient outcomes through educational activities focused around the study, prevention, diagnosis, and management of lower genital tract disorders. Today, the ASCCPs educational programs, both Continuing Medical Education (CME) and non-CME activities, center around seven major activities: 1) Live meetings (e.g., postgraduate programs, procedural workshops, and the biennial scientific meeting) 2) The Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease 3) Online CME programs, 4) Mentorship training program and examinations of colposcopic proficiency in knowledge and biopsy placement, 5) Resident education program including a national online residents examination, 6) Continually updated website with focused educational and practice management content; and 7) Pathology consultation review service.
