• Veterinary GPO is a strategic alliance of independently owned small animal and equine practices who are located in the western U.S. Our mission is to help practices purchase goods and services at savings not otherwise available to them due to their small and/or independent status. We are also committed to assisting the independent practices preserve and grow their businesses in this increasingly competitive environment of consolidation and integration by corporations. Unlike large corporate, academic and government practices, independent practices have long suffered from pricing disadvantages that result in low net profits and a slow erosion in the desirability of owning a small animal hospital. Veterinary GPO negotiates pricing on behalf of member practices by using the collective purchasing power of the membership. In much the same way that corporately owned veterinary groups negotiate favorable pricing for their owned hospitals, Veterinary GPO supports the independent practices. Veterinary GPO does not require members to change how they currently order products and supplies. Your internal processes remain the same, we simply work with suppliers to offer better pricing. Even if you are currently using some of our vendor partners, you will see additional savings with our contracts Veterinary GPO does not process orders, we do not warehouse products and we are not a distributor.
