• Hollingworth & Moss Ltd is an innovative dynamic business that has evolved and embraced new technologies based on the foundation of its traditional bookbinding skills. Established in 1966 by Michael Hollingworth and Peter Moss after becoming successful providing Leeds University with academic binding. Our factory then, was the ground floor of a row of terraced houses converted into small workshops in Leeds city centre. As the business grew we expanded onto the 2nd floor and in 1985 we were granted urban regeneration funding to build a purpose built factory in Sheepscar where we remain to this day. In 2003 we came across an opportunity to provide students with an online e-commerce site. The idea was to encourage students to print and bind their thesis utilising our online presence without having to leave their home comforts. This idea was the first of its kind in the UK and landed us with a grant from the DTI (Department of Training Industry) which gave us foundations to start the project and we employed a graduate from York University who spent 2 years working on a bespoke development for us to facilitate what is now known as Mythesis. We are proud to be in a position where we have a continuing policy of investment in capital equipment, technology and of course our staff. We believe this enables us to keep our workflow efficient and subsequently cost effective. The investments continued and in the mid 2000s we focussed our attention on technology and embraced the digital revolution head on. In 2005 we opened our digital scanning bureau as a hub of digital recreation from bound books to single sheet scanning through to large format scanning.
