• Since 2001, Firertrap Press and its co-founder, John Michael Vore have worked to create software, first for e-books, then more generally in the field of psychology. In 2009, the FTP Co-Op returned to its roots by publishing four books by the late chronicler of Chicago's LGBTQ lives, Jon-Henri Damski.From 1996 until today, the Firetrap Press Cooperative, through its books and e-books, has published over two dozen writers (including Jon-Henri Damski; the rest of the Firetrap Press gang (Lisa De Niscia, Owen Keehnen and John Vore); Andrew Greeley; Ken Babbs; Garry Wills). Firetrap Press covers have featured original artwork by 7 Midwest artists, including: Indiana's Steve Hull; Chicago's Steven New; Damski's muse, Michael Omega Orsetti; and Chicagoan Gabrielle Gutierrez (on Lighting Up No. 2).Firetrap Press books, ebooks and ejournals have been printed by Lightning Source & they have been distributed in the United States and the United Kingdom by Ingram in an uninterrupted fashion since 2000. Before that, Damski's first three collections were limited, hand-made editions meant for small distribution as keepsake editions--and Damski's full text works were available free on-line from 1996-2000.Vore and Firetrap Press left Chicago in 2002 to pursue expanding Firetrap into software--a long-term project which continues as Vore looks for the right team--and work in Interaction Design and/or User Experience design.
