Embrace the gift of giving back.Current plans and short-term goals: 1. Apply for and obtain 501(c)(3) non-profit status before 2010. 2. Provide financial, physical, and emotional support to an orphanage in the rural city of Yu-Lin, China, building relationships with the city, familiarizing ourselves with the local environment, and learning how business is done in a country like China. 3. Study the Yu-Lin area and determine whether this location would be optimal as a starting place for our orphanage [and medical clinic] operation.Ongoing plans: 1. Form a strong corporate foundation in the United States to financially support mission. 2. Continue to be involved within the community [in various ways] in order to cultivate and nurture a heart of servant-hood. Use all experiences as an opportunity to learn and grow.Possible long-term goals: 1. Visit desired starting-point location (e.g., Yu-Lin) approximately 2 times per year during residency, establish relationships, and set the groundwork prior to relocation. 2. Eventually relocating to China after residency training; gathering enough support to build and establish a local orphanage; and subsequently setting up a medical clinic within or around the orphanage, serving local families; but ultimately be guided by the Spirit and understand plans are subject to change.
