• The mission of the Historic Downtown Los Angeles Business Improvement District is to improve the quality of life of residents, property and business owners in our district through clean, safe, and enterprise programs.Clean Programs: Our partner Chrysalis is a non profit which employs individuals who are chronically homeless or otherwise financially challenged. These individuals are the men and women in green shirts and bright vests working hard every day sweeping, cleaning sidewalks, and emptying our trash cans.Safe Programs: Universal Protection Services guards go through a rigorous training schedule before working in partnership with LAPD to patrol our streets by bike, foot beat, and segways, at all hours of the day and night.Beautification: Holiday Decorations, additional Street Lighting, trees and planters are just some of the many ways we add life to our area.Marketing and Economic Development: Our website will be updated regularly, and we are working on all sorts of ways to promote our district. Our focus is on everything from comedy, fashion, and art to food , beverage, and retail. If you have vacant retail space, we want to know. We are always on the hunt for more day and nightlife for our residents, workers, and visitors. We work with independent consultants and are a liaison for brokers, too.
