• The Chelsea Foundation is organized around Chelsea, a stork mascot, keeping with the priorities embodied by storks: family, community consciousness, and nurturing values. The Foundation works to ensure the quality of life and a level of prosperity for the future by putting into place a Quality Effort Award Program. The first phase of this program will have a lasting effect and produce clear-cut results for generations to come. In an effort to encourage literacy across the curriculum, motivate creative thinking, and reward effort, the Quality Effort Award Program makes the following tools available to teachers: Chelseas Beacona children's online magazine filled with appropriate material for elementary students offering many beneficial methods, formats and outlets that promote the written word with writings submitted through a national volunteer effort of skilled professional and amateur writers. The Student's Beata child's day planner which can be used as a day-to-day journal throughout the school year to help students set realistic goals and guide them in their efforts to achieve these goals, as well as offer teachers a practical, lively and enjoyable method to help children take more control over their own lives inside and outside of the classroom. The Quality Effort Awarda certificate that recognizes and rewards the effort that students put into their schoolwork throughout the year. Goodbetterbest!
