Cook For Your Life is a 501(c)3 not for profit. Our mission is to teach healthy cooking to people touched by cancer. We improve the health of those touched by cancer by giving them to knowledge, tools, and inspiration to cook their way through treatment and into a healthy survivorship. -Since 2007, CFYL has served more than 8,000 cancer patients in the New York Tri-State area through hands-on cooking and nutrition classes, seminars, and demonstrations. -We have more than 20 partners in the cancer community, and work with NYCs major hospital systems. -We have a continuing collaboration with Columbia University on NIH funded behavioral research studies. Published results of this work can be seen on PubMed.-Our website served over 1 million people in 2015 and averages over 140,000 unique visitors per month primarily cancer patients, caregivers, survivors, and loved ones looking for simple healthy recipes. -In October 2015 our cookbook, Cook For Your Life, full of over 100 exclusive recipes by Ann Ogden was published by Penguin Random House and is available at most large retailers. -In 2017, Cook For Your Life is expanding it's online content. We are now creating more video tutorials on our Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/CookForYourLife. This allows cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones to learn how to cook meals which will improve their lives, wherever they are located.Our programs,website and cooking videos are designed by and for people with cancer. As a result they give patients back an element of control over one important aspect of their lives their food. Learning to cook meals that improve their lives is empowering both for patients in treatment and their caregivers. We increase knowledge of basic cooking skills, address nutritional concerns during cancer treatment and recovery and finally improve the diet of all those touched by cancer.
