• Gentle Beginnings provides childbirth services in three stages:~prenatal consultations. While a doula is not a medical caregiver, she does give great advice. You will receive one free consultation while you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant. Anytime a referral is needed, that is also free! We know just the right people to point you to for all your pregnancy needs whether it be a massage therapist, midwife or ob/gyn, or yoga class~~labor support. Included in this are also prenatal visits. When you have someone that is supporting you during labor, you need to trust that person. We will help you come up with a birth plan, plan your blessingway, be your friend during the months leading up to the big day. During labor we will be there for you the entire stretch of your labor. We will help your partner help you and advocate for you and your choices~~postpartum support. This is more often than not the most daunting time-especially if it is your first child. After your child is born, you might feel like you need to jump right back in to your life. Mamas and babies need to relax and get to know each other! You will receive one postpartum visit included in your labor support package. Any additional visits will be extra depending on the support you need. We will help with basic household chores, plan a menu for you, buffer guests (you know the ones that can't stay away but it's SO hard to tell them no), help recognize baby's cues, breastfeeding support, even a foot massage if you want~
