At Exosent, we use the un-modified unsteady fluid equations, and solve them in time (just like a virtual wind tunnel), and only model the smallest eddies in the flow (known as Large-Eddy Simulation: LES). Solving in this manner caries a higher computational cost. While this feature is newly available in most commercial codes, in contrast the code which Exosent utlize efficiently scales to over 200,000 processors and can come to a solution typically 10-100 times faster than commercial codes.. In addition, flow experimentation are implemented when appropriate.
