• History of Our FirmOur firm was originally founded by Frank L. Sassetti in 1921 servicing the Italian immigrant community . During the 1960s, our founder's son, Robert Sassetti moved the firm from Chicago to suburban Oak Park, where we are still located. The younger Mr. Sassetti transformed the firm from essentially a one-man operation into a firm able to service larger and more complex clients. In 1994, Mr. Sassetti retired and left the firm to a new group of partners who have continued to serve under his basic philosophy to do a few things very well. In other words, focus on those areas where we are most competent, and do not try to be all things to all people. Today, Sassetti LLC's clients consist of a broad range of family-owned businesses, SEC regulated companies and not-for-profit organizations. Our goal is to maximize business effectiveness and cost-efficiency, and to help clients understand the ever-changing complex accounting and tax rules.Our significant amount of experience, both at the partner and staff levels, enables us to put our firm philosophy to work. MembershipsWe are members of the American Institute of Public Accountants (AIPCA), the AIPCA's National Peer Review Committee and the Illinois CPA Society's CPAs for the Public Interest, for whom we have performed various pro bono engagements. We are registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). The PCAOB, created by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, oversees public company audits to ensure audit quality for the protection of investors.
