• The Henrico Education Foundation (HEF) is an independent, nonprofit, community-based organization that provides resources and educational programs in the Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS). Our mission is to prepare students for college, career and community by connecting philanthropy with strategic initiatives that strengthen public education in Henrico County. HEFs work in support of HCPS is more important than ever as principals and teachers look for new instructional strategies and approaches to improve public schools and ignite student learning. Founded in 1993 as a public-private partnership with the school district, HEF serves as a catalyst to create innovation, identify research-based solutions, replicate best practices in additional classrooms, and connect strategic partnerships with public schools. HEF funds creative instructional approaches with strong academic goals that directly address the opportunity gap and provides resources for teachers impacting the most challenged students. To keep pace with the growth of underserved students, and to reach largely overlooked communities, the Foundation is currently focused on four priorities to proactively address equitable access and to help every student graduate on time, college or career-ready. HEFs Four Priorities: 1. Preparing students K-12 for success in college, career and community 2. Strengthening educational leaders 3. Developing strong community relationships that impact school success 4. Serving as a catalyst for innovation in Henrico County Public Schools
