• Estabrook Investors utilizes a fund-of-funds approach to access best of class funds for its investors. Currently we operate a global, multi-strategy absolute return fund named Estabrook Absolute Return Fund (EARF). We have operated EARF since 1997 (and its predecessor since 1987). We anticipate launching another fund that will focus on top quality managers whose investing style acknowledges the benefits of a systems approach that integrates analyses of financial, sustainability and other social impact considerations. EARF's goal is to achieve attractive rates of return without the volatility and risk to principal usually associated with equity investments. EARF will seek to realize its goal by allocating funds among portfolio managers who follow an absolute return investment strategy known as global multi-strategy investing. Absolute return multi-strategy managers use a combination of approaches to exploit inefficiencies and achieve results expected to be substantially independent from market movements. These managers strive to generate consistent, above-market rates of return over the long term regardless of the direction of the market, viewing risk in terms of losing money rather than performance relative to the market. When stock market conditions are poor, absolute return multi-strategy managers are often better positioned to protect assets than are traditional equity managers. When market conditions are strong, absolute return multi-strategy managers can be expected to generate reasonable returns, although perhaps below those of traditional marketable securities.
