• LearnEarnRetire is a body of work created by Alan J. McMillan, a former high technology executive with over 30 years of professional experience.Alan launched a seminar, Transitions to a group of 60 students at the Schey Sales Centre at Ohio University in 2006. Alan received over 150 email from those participants hungry go take the seminar further with follow question after question. He realized he had struck a nerve in that most of the participants cited the information as vital and they went on to say they were not taught this material their college curriculum.Alan was overwhelmed. He went to Amazon and looked for books, that covered the same material targeted at college students, there were none. There were books on say 'networking,' but not targeted at the 18-24 year old let alone not the vital combination of: Why is your long range objective that your education is propelling you to; Building your brand; Building your networking; Job Search; Job Selection; New Role Preparation; Early Career Management and Financial Independence.The now Transitions college seminar series has scaled to LearnEarnRetire. This work has become his passion. He has delivered it to over 800 students at campuses across America. He recently left high tech and is devoting the majority of his time to this work.In January he will be joining the faculty at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in where he resides with this family. This is his way of giving back.
