• The Feather River Land Trust, one of the Northern Sierras most vibrant and effective community-based organizations. Inspired by the magnificent lands, waters, and people of the Feather River region, we are a community of 830 friends and neighbors (and growing!) working together to protect the places that define the Feather River region.Since 2000, we have successfully protected over 36,000 acres of private lands that support outstanding biodiversity, waterways, fisheries, recreational and educational opportunities, cultural sites, agricultural lands, and spectacular scenery.The Feather River Land Trust is a private, non-profit organization founded by residents of the Feather River region. We work with willing landowners and local communities to conserve land in the Feather River region and steward its ecological and cultural values for current and future generations.We accomplish our mission through three programs:* Land Protection Program: Conserves publicly important lands and waterways* Land Stewardship Program: Maintains, restores, and enhances land health and other publicly important conservation values like historic buildings and cultural resources* Land & People Program: Nurtures and restores peoples relationship to land through nature-based education, recreation, and stewardship activities
