• Established in 2005 to address the pandemic of childhood obesity by transforming the way children eat, Recipe for Success Foundation has grown from a grassroots Houston initiative to one with a national footprint and reputation. Recipe For Success developed a comprehensive experiential learning program for preK-8th grade students, promotes healthy eating with books, contests and public awareness campaigns, and works to make affordable, healthy food available to everyone.The Foundation has created measurable change for more than 30,000 children with its Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education program, which is aligned with TEKS and Common Core for integrated classroom delivery. Teaching students how to grow, harvest and cook nutritious foods, empowers them to make a lifetime of healthy eating decisions. The Foundation attracted national attention and took this evidence-based program to scale in 2012 with its Affiliate Partner Program, which offers Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education instructor training and curriculum support to schools nationwide.
