• Seeking to put God's love into action, Willamette West Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.Habitat works in partnership with low-income families, volunteers, donors, and organizations to receive donated materials, volunteer labor and generous financial gifts. Qualifying families purchase habitat homes by contributing 500 hours of Sweat Equity building Habitat homes as their down payment. They receive an affordable mortgage (currently 0% APR) and monthly payments structured to their income. Monthly mortgage payments from Habitat homeowners come back into a fund that is used to build more Habitat homes. We call it our Fund for Humanity.Habitat also works in partnership with other low-income homeowners in Washington County who may need help revitalizing their home's exterior with paint, gutter & roof repair, and simple yard clean up as part of our A Brush with Kindness program. More extensive, critical interior repairs are taken care of with our Critical Home Repair program. For each, homeowners must put in sweat equity helping with the repairs and repay a small portion of the out-of-pocket expenses.
