    Description

    • MetroHealth Station was a medical Health Home, where every patient receives primary medical, oral, physical, behavioral, and wellness care. We simplified the health care process by providing a one-stop shop that provided health and wellness care for an individual, family, and our community. After 2 years, MetroHealthStation closed its doors on December 31, 2016. The multi-specialty team of family medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, dental hygienists, physical and occupational therapists, marriage-family therapist, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrist provided exceptional care to over 1000 children and adults. However, we could not sustain our practice financially due to administrative burden and underpayment from a fractionated, delegated, non-responsive payor system.We look forward to the future when health professionals, public health policy leaders, and health plans will collaboratively address the need to bring health services to underserved communities by supporting health professional from the fields of medicine, dentistry, rehabilitation, and mental health in providing health home services to communities that need us.
