• D & P Communications has been in business for over 100 years. Our history dates back to 1898, when the Deerfield Farmers Telephone Company was first organized.Fast forward 70 years to when Dave LaRocca joined Deerfield Farmers Telephone Company in 1976; he was one of just five employees at the time. In 1988 Dave became the president of Deerfield Farmers Telephone Company, a position he still holds today with parent company D & P Communications.As technology has evolved, so has D & P Communications. Prior to the 1990s, the companys focus was on providing telephone services to Petersburg and Deerfield. At that time, the switching system took up a 40-foot by 20-foot room in each town. Today, the entire phone switching system for all markets is accomplished by a Class V MetaSwitch that takes up just a small amount of rack space in our Petersburg data center.The company became known as D & P Communications in the early 1990s. It was also during this time that D & P expanded its services to include cable television and Internet offerings. In 1995, D & P became the first company in the country to deliver voice services over coaxial wiring instead of copper.Today, D & P Communications is a local and highly trusted phone, cable, and Internet provider serving Southeast Michigan. We offer affordable, feature-rich phone services, HD cable television, and high-speed Internet at competitive rates.
