• THE MISSIONCarry The Load is a non-profit dedicated to providing active, meaningful ways to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nations heroes military, law enforcement, firefighters and first responders. What started as a mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day has broadened to include more than just our military heroes and more than just the one holiday. Carry The Load works to bring all Americans together to participate in honoring our nations heroes every day.INVOLVEMENTCarry The Load asks Americans to simply do something in the month of May, and over Memorial Day weekend, to honor those who have sacrificed for us. We host numerous events throughout the United States, free for the public, where you and as many people as possible are encouraged to help honor and celebrate our nations heroes.Participants are also invited to form teams to walk in respect for our nations heroes to fundraise amongst friends, family and coworkers. Last year alone, Carry The Load supporters and sponsors raised more than $2 million for Memorial May to benefit the Continuum of Care program.THE ORGANIZATIONCarry The Load was co-founded by Clint Bruce and Stephen Holley. It all started when Bruce, a former Navy SEAL and war veteran, was sitting at a barbecue on Memorial Day. As he thought about the friends he lost in combat, he couldnt help but notice that the people around him had a very different view of what Memorial Day meant. What started as a mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day has broadened to include more than just our military heroes and more than just the one holiday. Carry The Load works to bring all Americans together to participate in honoring our nations heroes every day.
