- Since 1983, the Neighborhood Counseling Center (NCC) has provided comprehensive mental health services to Brooklyn and surrounding communities. NCC is staffed by a team of social workers and psychiatrists committed to our purpose, and who have demonstrated professional competence and ability in their field.Your team of providers will individualize a program that addresses your needs. Your program may consist of individual therapy and/or one of our support groups. If appropriate, your partner or family members may be included in our efforts to help you achieve your treatment goals. Through therapy, your provider will help youidentify the issues that are causing you to engage in non-productive or self-defeating behaviors and help you develop the skills to cope and resolve the issues that cause your conflict.To make your experience at NCC as stressfree as possible, our staff is available on-site to handle your insurance questions and help access your benefits. NCC is also committed to working collaboratively within the network of local mental health, health care and social service providers to assure that you are adequately linked to the services and resources that you may need
