• Project Transformation Rio Texas is a ministry of the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, and a chapter of Project Transformation National established in 2015. Project Transformation Rio Texas provides two primary services: (1) Socially conscious leadership training and ministry exploration for college-aged young adults; and (2) Academic, health, spiritual, and recreational programming for children, youth, and teens in the Rio Texas conference area. Project Transformation Rio Texas provides the first service by offering young adults who are interested in service and ministry summer internships, to give young adults hands-on service opportunities in communities in need. The young adults, in turn, are the key to delivering a summer academic, spiritual, and enrichment program for children and youth across the San Antonio and Boerne. Project Transformation Rio Texas serves 3 sites in the Rio Texas conference: 2 in the city of San Antonio, and one in Boerne. In the summer of 2016, Project Transformation Rio Texas will hire 26 young adults to serve over 180 children in the San Antonio area. Project Transformation is raising leaders of the next generation while making a significant impact in the communities it serves, turning dormant neighborhood space into vital assets.
