• A world class marine educational attraction nestled on beautiful Yaquina Bay in Newport, the Oregon Coast Aquarium is unique from most other aquariums, because it exists inside the environment describes. Around the corner is a rocky den, home to a giant Pacific octopus.As one of Oregon's top tourist attractions, the Aquarium is a vital educational resource for the state, with 40,000 students visiting the aquarium each year. The aquarium also plays an active role in conservation and rehabilitation efforts. Some of the Oregon Coast Aquarium's nationally known research and conservation programs include the sea otter loan breeding program, the yelloweye rockfish study project, sea otter olfactory study and the Oregon silverspot butterfly conservation project.The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational attraction dedicated to the highest quality aquatic and marine science programs for recreation and education so the public better understands, cherishes, and conserves the worlds natural marine and coastal resources.
