Description

SCOPE is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide children in need the edge to succeed in life through the summer camp experience. We accomplish this by funding camp scholarships at not-for-profit resident camps where children will benefit from a positive, safe and healthy environment led by excellent adult role models, who will help them develop their full potential.May 2012- Executive Director's MessageAfter 21 years of success and growth, SCOPE has refined its vision to incorporate and emphasize the importance of education to enable children to become successful adults. In keeping with our mission, SCOPE now stands for: Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education. This name highlights the important educational benefits of summer camp and the fact that camp is indeed a key component of the year round education of a child. All SCOPE campers make a commitment to stay in school with the goal of graduating from high school; and for those who do so and continue in the camp program, SCOPE will be providing funds for them to further their education!
