• I would first like to thank you for taking the time to learn about the SafeWayHOME application, and the important issue of drunk driving prevention.  While we stand behind the position that drunk drivers need to be locked up and taken off the street, statistics show that the average drunk driver has already driven 87 times before being arrested.  Our concern lies with the innocent drivers placed in harms way every time someone chooses to make the decision to drive under the influence of alcohol.   The face of drunk driving fatalities does not discriminate. In 2010 alone, 10,228 innocent adults and children never made it home, and 17% of people killed in drunk driving accidents range from the ages of 0-14.  Whether someone has never been arrested for DUI, or has a prior DUI offense, we strongly believe that SafeWayHOME is a responsible course of action to take when enjoying a night out. Moreover, it should be mandatory for those who have carelessly and recklessly chosen to break the law, thus putting theirs and others lives at risk.  We advocate on behalf of those whose voices have been silenced by the irresponsibility of drunk driving. This is why SafeWayHOME is so important.SafeWayHOME is a nationwide endeavor to bring alcohol related deaths and injuries to an all time low. I believe with the right cooperation and momentum behind us, we can make a significant dent in the number of innocent people killed annually.
