• Volunteer-powered safety net services that help seniors and adults with disabilities stay safe and live more independently.WHY WE'RE HEREHere in Boulder County, adults age 60-and-over represent the fastest growing population segment in our community. These increasing numbers will provide opportunities as well as challenge the safety net services that help our seniors get their basic needs. We're evolving and growing to meet the increasing needs for services.WHAT WE DOWe've been supporting local seniors since 1972. Our 5 programs: Carry-Out Caravan Volunteers take orders, shop for, and deliver groceries to the homebound and those who cant shop themselves. Fix-It Minor home repairs, including grab installation, wheel chair and walker repair, fire alarm installation, and more to help seniors stay safe in their homes. IceBusters Volunteers shovel snow all winter to help seniors comply with municipal regulations and reduce their risk of falling. Medical Mobility Volunteers provide escorted transportation to and from medical appointments. YardBusters Volunteers perform basic yard maintenance that help seniors comply with municipal regulations and reduce their risk of falling.Knowing they are able to get nutritious food each week, that their homes are safer, and that they have reliable transportation to the doctors office these are small miracles for our elder clients. They often tell us that these basic services make a huge difference between being independent or not.
