OnTrackNorthAmerica, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit transportation consultancy, is founded on twenty years of research and dialogue with stakeholders throughout industry, government, and academia. We have promoted a bold, yet pragmatic vision for advancing transportation efficiency through thousands of individual conversations and numerous multi-stakeholder summits. During this time, founder Michael Sussman through his company Strategic Rail Finance has coordinated financing in 35 states, particularly for branch railroads that previously suffered from underinvestment. Mr. Sussman's commitment to maximizing the transportation industry's contribution to economic vitality and livable communities has led to the creation of OnTrackNorthAmerica.OnTrackNorthAmerica has developed a set of strategic outcomes aimed at achieving more intelligence and sustainability in transportation and infrastructure planning. Specifically, we seek to:Advance the interaction among industry, government, and community to a more productive level of coordination, collaboration, and imagination.Lead the conception and implementation of freight transportation land use strategies.Enhance intermodal transportations contribution to logistics efficiency by integrating comprehensive land use planning. Reverse the decline of direct rail service and expand investment in rail transportation to handle more of the growing freight demand.Stimulate the adoption of a new model for transportation planning: Transportation Action Planning.Promote competition with coordination and collaboration as the primary principle driving commercial development and regulation of infrastructure.Support the optimization and integration of all transport modes within a balanced freight logistics system.
