Green Actioneers

Description

• Until schools start up again we are seriously looking for ways to get our Green Actioneers Workbook into the hands of families so they can use it to chart their course to sustainability. The book is composed of 100 two-page spreads. On the left hand page of each spread we have a description of the action in English and Spanish. On the right hand page are a coloring book for younger kids and a relevant word game for older kids. We intend for families to go through the book together. Once schools are open again, Green Actioneers will start with a one-day visit to the school by a trained Presenter, paid for by the Parent Teachers Association at the school. We start with a teachers meeting in the early morning where we show teachers how our program fits with both how kids learn and their need to focus on STEM education. We spend the day in the gym or cafeteria in back to back classes harnessing the unlimited energy of children focused on obtaining a clean and green future for themselves. That night at Family Night, we add in the compassion that parents feel for their kids. Children and parents sit together, plan their low energy future, fill out and pledge to follow a Green Actioneer Checklist of all the things they can to to achieve their goals. This program can be linked to vendors of energy and water saving products who give rebates to the PTA for purchases by families.. Green Actioneers is available now in Florida and will be extended to other states after our Green Actioneer Handbook is published in early 2020.
