- Dr. Steve Poplawski, (or Doc Pop) is a bariatric surgeon with more than 13 years at Barix Clinics (formerly called Bariatric Treatment Centers) in Southeast Michigan. He's performed more than 4,000 bariatric procedures, including revisional surgery, with excellent patient outcomes in weight loss and in terms of very low complication rates. If your are morbidly obese, the decision to have bariatric surgery should not be taken lightly. The first line of treatment for morbid obesity is to eat less and exercise more.
