• Abraxas Energy Consulting (AEC) provides commercial energy auditing, retro-commissioning services and utility bill tracking software to energy managers, energy consultants, and Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).AEC was founded in 2001 by John Avina, CEM, CMVP. Mr. Avina previously of SRC Systems, Silicon Energy and Johnson Controls, focused the early energies of AEC on helping ESCOs fulfill their energy analysis requirements. AEC focused early on Energy Audits and Measurement and Verification (M&V) software and services for ESCOs. The company is the master reseller of Metrix 4, a software product used to determine energy savings. It is estimated that over $4B in ESCO's savings guarantees are being tracked using Metrix. AEC supplies software and services to energy managers, ESCOs and consultants throughout the world. AEC has customers on 5 continents, and has taught energy management throughout the world, including in Brazil, Hong Kong, Thailand, Qatar, Spain and Bulgaria. Our customer list includes ESCOs (Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, NORESCO, MCW, BC Hydro), C&I (Accor Hotels, Ryder, Pfizer, Purina, Macys), Government (US Navy, State of New Mexico, City of Regina, Toronto Housing Authority, the Navajo Nation), and Energy Consultants (Warren Energy Engineering, Ainsworth Consulting).Although located in California, for our entire history, AEC has worked throughout the United States, with the majority of our audits performed outside of California.
