• No matter which entertainment industry you're in, the business challenges we face and the analytics / data science tools we have available to solve them are changing rapidly. As a way to share and learn with other thought leaders in adjacent industries, we established this invite only, 50 person private event that mostly operates under the Chatham House Rule (and so the identities and affiliations of attendees cant be revealed). Representatives of almost every major media company covering movie studios, record labels, television networks, streaming TV / music companies, book publishing, eSports and many more, along with leading consultants and (business-focused) academics in this space. We share achievements and challenges and learn and plan collaborations together in an open, honest and private environment. Our mission is to encourage the development of analytical methods, the creative application of analytics and the adoption of analytics-fueled strategies in the entertainment industries through sharing and learning. Topics include: Analytical Methods: whether it's the application of new methods like convolutional neural nets or under-used but established methods like regression discontinuities, the core of the conference is about learning analytical methods that could be more widely employed in entertainment Analytical Applications: Creative application of analytics to new and innovative business problems is another core theme of many presentations Strategic Questions: How can businesses make sure that analytics has the biggest impact (using it for strategy, rather than just tactics)? How can analytics be useful for creatives? What strategic questions do the results of analytics provoke? What strategic questions should we be focusing analytics on? We are working on our eighth and ninth events now. We run the conference annually in both LA and in the UK.
