There is a long tradition of embellished (embroidered) attire that started with Indian Royalty and has woven itself into an integral part of the South Asian experience but even a few years of neglect can see an entire craft die away because of one lost link in the chain of skills passed down from one generation to the next. It is only because of the patronage of our customers that these crafts still have a market and the artisans can make a living wage from their hereditary skills and products.MissionAt Sultana we intend to keep alive the traditional artisanal crafts of India by creating products that utilize these legacy crafts and re-invent them in a way that appeals to current aesthetics.
