The best way to expose students to the possibilities of their future careers is ensuring that mentors in todays highest growth fields share their experiences and insights. Students need access to financial education and basic business skills in order to navigate our global economy. For many students in the Dallas area, these essential skills are out of reachnot taught in school or by parents at home. Junior Achievement of Dallas has been serving as a conduit to financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education for 60 years, bringing business and community volunteers in to schools to teach business skills relevant to changing times. Beginning the journey to the next 60 years of impact, our vision is to provide business role models, basic business skills, and financial literacy to the most at-risk students.During 2016-17, 52,500 students will gain essential skills to help them navigate the 21st century world of work by working directly with 4,750 engaged volunteers. More than 74% of these students are considered economically disadvantaged, and as we grow in our new vision, more students who critically need our programs will have the opportunity to work with JA corporate and community volunteers. With your help, we can achieve these gains across the community, starting with our most at-risk student populations. We need YOUR help to serve as a volunteer in the classroom.
