- MHP creates quality affordable homes. Formed in 1989, Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP) is a private, nonprofit organization that develops, acquires and rehabilitates quality apartments and homes in Montgomery County, Maryland. Through its affiliates, MHP owns and manages more than 1,700 units of affordable rental housing in Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Wheaton, Rockville, Gaithersburg and several other communities around the County.MHP houses people, empowers families, and strengthens neighborhoods. Its holistic approach to housing includes providing affordable rents; developing community life programs to assist residents and their families; and coordinating outreach to residents, civic organizations and small businesses in neighborhoods where affordable housing is located.MHP is a chartered member of NeighborWorks America. Its award-winning Community Life Programs include Play and Learn preschool circles, afterschool homework clubs, summer enrichment camps, computer training, health seminars, and ESOL classes.
