• Lost River Economic Development, Inc. is a non-profit organization lead by a 14 member board of directors, made up of volunteer representatives from Butte & South Custer Counties. The mission of Lost Rivers Economic Development is to help create opportunities for economic development in South Custer and Butte counties through desirable business growth, expansion, retention, and attraction and in working as partners to develop a climate conducive to maintaining the quality of life in the Lost River Valleys.LRED uses programs to help promote and strengthen our local businesses by providing assistance to local business owners, entrepreneurs and business developers to help them in whatever phase their business is in start up, retention, expansion, or succession. We are not only here to provide advice, guidance or resources to individual businesses, but are also always looking for programs, training and resources to help our business communities as a whole. LRED connects with community organizations, city, county & civic organizations throughout the Lost River Valleys. When a specific need has been identified that LRED has the resources or expertise to assist with, then the work begins. LRED also cooperates with our regional, state & federal partners on mutually beneficial projects.
