    Description

    • Wapiyapi is a nonprofit organization envisioned by a group of medical students from the University of Colorado to support families facing childhood cancer. Designed for kids ages 16 to 17 years of age, our signature program Camp Wapiyapi provides an unforgettable summer camp experience near Estes Park the chance to run, laugh and play with other children at no charge to the families. Activities let campers escape cancer and feel carefree again. Each child is paired with his or her own companion from the volunteer staff who ensures their safety and the best experience possible. The childrens siblings also attend, as cancer affects the whole family. Since 1998 over 1,600 children and their families have been served, drawing strength from the knowledge that none of them are facing their challenges alone. Our mission is to provide an exceptional camp experience that fosters friendships, fun and healing outside of the hospital to families facing childhood cancer.
