• kindtokids.orgKind to Kids Foundation is a nonprofit charity that brightens the lives of Delaware foster children & children in poverty with LifeSkills, an evidenced based, educational program that gives foster youth and teens at risk vital skills to help them succeed in life. This innovative educational program teaches teens the skills they need to become independent, self-sufficient adults. Sadly, most foster teens do not succeed in the adult world. Approx 66% of foster youth do NOT graduate from high school,& many become homeless or incarcerated. Kind to Kids aims to improve these statistics. We also provide opportunities to wonderful sporting, cultural and academic events for foster children and children in poverty that they could not normally attend. In addition, Kind to Kids provides supportive wrap around services to help ease the trauma for children who are victims of abuse and neglect. Since the Jones Family founded the organization in 2008, the Foundation has provided opportunities to over 8,000 children, & over $120,000 in ticket costs.In DE, there are over 800 children in foster care, and over 36,000 children in poverty. Foster children are removed from their homes & placed in a foster care setting. They struggle to adjust to the painful changes in their lives. For impoverished children, Kind to Kids realizes that poverty is much more than a lack of wealth - it is also a lack of experiences. Kind to Kids provides experiences that enrich children's lives & broaden their horizons to the world around them.Kind to Kids also provides toys to foster children during the holidays, & care packages & supplies to children entering foster care.
