• Starett Energy Service is committed to providing quality well and midstream operations and maintenance, equipment, containment, and roustabout services for the Marcellus and Utica shale plays across the Appalachian region.Staretts Well Service, LLC was founded by Joe and Gina Starett and began operations in 2002, in Jane Lew, WV. With Joes years of experience in the oil & gas industry, and Ginas accounting and business background, the duo decided to embark on their very own entrepreneurship. The company began as a Swab Rig Service Company with one swab rig, one employee, and one customer servicing the Shallow Well Market. In 2005, Joe began to notice a need for roustabout services and began providing those services, positioning Staretts Well Service for even greater growth. As the dynamics of the industry evolved into the Marcellus and Utica Shales, Joe again recognized a need for quality roustabout services and decided to focus on growing the business into those markets as well. As business continued to expand and grow, Staretts Well Service grew to yet another level, requiring the assistance of a full office support staff and more resources. In September of 2015, Joe and Gina Starett sold a percentage of Staretts Well Service to Turning Basin Capital (TBC), a private equity group based in Richmond, Virginia. Staretts Well Service is now a sister company to ProActive Services, also purchased by TBC in mid-2014. Shortly after acquiring ProActive Services, Turning Basin Capital formed Basin Energy Group, a holding company focused on finding and growing a broad portfolio of services and solutions companies, in the midstream segment of the expanding shale gas market in the Marcellus and Utica basins. Basin Energy Group acts as a holding company providing overall strategic direction, back office services and implementation of best practices, and allocation of capital in support of growth for all subsidiary companies.
