- Healthy NewsWorks engages elementary and middle school students intellectually and creatively in producing authentic journalism that influences health attitudes and tackles such pressing issues as obesity, bullying, asthma, and safety. Established as a volunteer program in 2003, Healthy NewsWorks is rooted in the principles of preventive medicine and public health. The program now operates in more than a dozen schools in the Philadelphia region.Healthy NewsWorks is a member of New Beginnings Nonprofit Incubator at Resources for Human Development, a registered charitable organization. Healthy NewsWorks is responsible for all of its own fundraising.
