- ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale) is the premier worldwide organisation dedicated to type and typography. Founded in 1957, ATypI provides the structure for communication, information and action amongst the international type community.We not only preserve the culture, tradition, and history of type and typography, we also promote contemporary digital fonts, encourage outstanding typography and typographic design, campaign for the protection of typeface designs, and produce our annual conference and other events. Every four or five years, ATypI awards the Prix Charles Peignot for Excellence in Type Design to a designer under the age of 35 who has made an oustanding contribution to type design.ATypI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation incorporated in the state of California, USA.
