    • The Spot, located in Hermosa Beach, is the oldest existing vegetarian restaurant in Los Angeles. Originally established in 1977, chefs Tonya and Maurice Beaudet purchased the restaurant in 1980. Today, the Spot has become one of Southern California's most popular vegetarian eateries serving up creative culinary concoctions that are both healthy and delicious. Most of the menu is available gluten-free, fat-free and dairy-free, or vegan. They always serve organic whole grains and legumes, using seasonal organic produce when available. They serve and cook only with purified water. Their homemade bread, cornbread and desserts are sweetened with raw agave. None of their recipes contain isolated soy protein (SPI). Their fat-free soups never contain any oils or dairy products.
