- Buffalo Tungsten Inc. (BTI) has been a leading independent manufacturer of tungsten powder products since 1987. Our highest volume products are pure tungsten powder and tungsten carbide powder. We manufacture a variety of tungsten carbide (WC/Co) thermal spray powders as well as nanosized tungsten carbide powder. We also produce various mesh sizes of crushed tungsten carbide hardmetal.Our commitment to quality and customer service has established us a leader in the international tungsten market. We help our customers improve their finished products by fine tuning their powder specifications to achieve the best possible results. Our powders are used in powdered metallurgy applications such as mining bits and tools, electrical contacts, heavy metal alloys, electronic heat sinks, and fabricated tungsten rod/bar.BTIs supply chain is free on conflict minerals. We source tungsten ores and concentrates from mines throughout the world and purchase tungsten and tungsten carbide scrap to convert into intermediate tungsten materials such as ammonium paratungstate (APT) and blue tungsten oxide (BTO) in our new hydrometallurgy plant.
