Pomfret School

Description

• Pomfret is an independent coeducational college preparatory school for 355 boarding and day students hailing from 26 states and 17 countries in grades 9 through 12 with postgraduates. Founded in 1894, our mission is to cultivate a healthy interdependence of mind, body, and spirit as we prepare our students for college, and to lead and learn in a diverse and increasingly interconnected society.Set on a stunning 500-acre hilltop in rural Northeastern Connecticut, our campus is less than an hour from Boston, Hartford, and Providence, and only 3 hours from New York City. Our unique location balances the charm of a traditional boarding school environment with the accessibility of world-class culture and entertainment. The heart of the Pomfret experience is a curriculum that teaches students how to think, not what to think. We value learning by doing, achievement through collaboration, and growth through risk-taking. Whether it is the launch of a new project-based class or the expansion of our health and wellness program, we are equipping our students with the skills they will need to succeed in college and life.If we sound like your kind of school, then you sound like our kind of student.
