• Building Tomorrow is an int'l social-profit organization empowering young people to invest their resources, time and talents in providing access to education for their peers in sub-Saharan Africa.BT currently works in Uganda, identifying areas that have the greatest number of children with the least access to a primary school. More recently, as BT's reputation throughout Uganda has grown, more and more communities have approached the organization requesting a school be built and offering land on which to build it. In these areas, BT works to build a partnership with the community so that they can build a school together. Committees of residents and local leaders are established to oversee the construction process from start to finish.BT chapters and supporters provide challenge grants to communities equal to the cost of construction materials for a new academy. In exchange for building materials and support, local community members and family and friends of future students commit to volunteer over 20,000 hours of their time to construct each academy. Upon completion, BT academies become public government schools whereby teachers' salaries and long-term operating costs are paid for by the Ugandan Ministry of Education under their Universal Primary Education Initative.Each BT academy is equipped with seven classrooms (P1 through P7US equivalent of 1st through 7th grade), an office, a library, meeting space, toilets, a field and has classroom space for 325 students.
