- Founder & CEO, Jan Smith began System Studies & Simulation, Inc. S3 in 1991 as a provider of technical services through two diversified business units: SETA Services and Training Services. S3 also has three wholly-owned subsidiaries: Kachemak Bay Flying Services, Global Logistics Support Services (GLSS), and S3 International, Inc. S3 supports DoD, US security agencies, Partner Nations, and commercial customers. S3 has experienced remarkable historical & quickly established a business base of diverse defense and space programs, significantly increasing the level of expertise in the technology community. In 2015, to broaden the strength of the executive team, Jim Barclay came back to his home state of Alabama and joined S3 as President after retiring as United States Army Deputy Chief of Staff G-8. Mr. Barclay brings a wealth of industry & technical expertise with a background in military aviation providing great mentorship opportunities for our teammates.In addition to its headquarters in Huntsville, AL., S3 has offices operating in 35 states, with 50 locations world-wide with corporate branches located in: CO, VA, FL, TX and AL. S3s wholly-owned Subsidiary Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS) operates out of Killeen, TX.
