• WAPC is an individual membership association that was formed in 1970. It currently has over 650 members and has a statewide office in Madison. Through its multidisciplinary membership and its partnerships with health care providers, consumers, governmental agencies, professional societies and corporate health care systems, WAPC knows what the key issues are in perinatal care and how they are affecting women, infants and families. These issues include access to quality services, health care financing, standards of care, realignment of service providers and service systems, continuing education of professionals and public education.The mission of the Perinatal Foundation is to secure and provide resources to improve the health of babies, mothers and families from preconception to early childhood. The Foundation pursues this mission by identifying current and emerging needs across the spectrum of perinatal health concerns and working collaboratively with the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care to promote and implement effective perinatal practices; securing and managing the resources that make the Foundations work possible; and awarding grants in support of research, education and model projects. The Perinatal Foundation was established in 1985.
