We assume no prior knowledge of business or business terms and we use Plain English throughout.Essential Business was founded in 2002 by Julie Stanford. After twenty years of running her own businesses, she felt (and still does!) that business is far easier to talk or write about that to do. She also suspected that she wasnt the only person who sometimes struggled to find the right answers to her many and varied business questions.In 2003 Julie gathered a team of collaborators and subject specialists and together they wrote, designed and published the first book in the Essential Business range: the Essential Business Guide. Winner of a Plain English award, and now in its fourth edition, the Essential Business Guide is a valuable reference resource used by thousands of business owners and their advisers.Over the years, customers asked for further learning materials, presented in the same clear, well-designed style. This resulted in the creation of series of practical workbooks and courses and trainer support materials.We work with all different types of people and organisations ranging from someone who is simply thinking about starting a business, to large organisations who work with business owners all across the UK and abroad. Our customers use our guides, workbooks and courses to support them, whether they are starting out in business or training large groups of students or business start-ups.
